1st TeRRIFICA Online Conference “Co-creation and Climate Action.

Guni NetworkThe first TeRRIFICA Online Conference will be held on May 22nd 2019 from 10am to 2pm (CEST/Brussels time). Free registration is now open via e-mail to hannah.hoff@uni-vechta.de
The Conference will start with the expert talk on co-creation given by Dr. Angela Connelly (University of Manchester). The Conference will also offer good practice examples from six pilot regions in Belarus, France, Germany, Poland, Serbia and Spain that combine co-creation processes with climate change adaptation and mitigation strategies. FUEN’s 70 year Anniversary Congress to take place on 12-16 June in Slovakia

Résultat de recherche d'images pour "fuen.org"The largest and most influential minority umbrella organisation in Europe, the Federal Union of European Nationalities will organise its 70 year anniversary 2019 Congress in Bratislava/Pozsony and Dunajská Streda/Dunaszerdahely between the 12th and 16th of June.
The Congress will provide an opportunity to evaluate the accomplishments of 70 years of FUEN, in the presence of the former presidents of the organisation, and to draft a direction for the minority umbrella organisation for the decades to come. The Congress will also serve as an opportunity to focus on the situation of minorities in Slovakia, the hosting country and also on he minority situation in Ukraine. More...

The annual meeting of FUEN’s Education Working Group starts next week in Brussels

Education in mother language is a human right

Résultat de recherche d'images pour "fuen.org"The FUEN President pointed out the main conclusions of the organisation’s expert team on education, stating that financial and administrative concerns appear to be the most common ones: access to all levels of education, proper funding, partaking in the decision-making process and administration of schools and universities. The adequate curriculum, teaching materials and textbooks as well as providing funding for teacher training is the second most important concern. Incorporating best practices in teaching foreign languages into the methodology for teaching official or state languages and on the other hand promoting the teaching of both the regional or minority languages and the official language, would address the existing mistrust and sensitivities both in the majority and the minority groups. FUEN strongly objects the intimidation of the Hungarian community in Romania

The current political environment is unpredictable, but once the presidential elections are over there will be a new chance for Ukraine to go back on the right track, respecting national minorities and supporting their linguistic and educational rights – said FUEN president Loránt Vincze on Tuesday in Strasbourg at the side event of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE).
