Media release: UQ HASS Faculty Board Rejects Proposed Ramsay Programme

A regular meeting of the University of Queensland’s Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS) Board of Studies yesterday considered the academic program of the proposed Ramsay Centre for “Western Civilisation”. At the end of a three-hour discussion, the meeting voted unanimously not to approve the proposed curriculum of the Ramsay program. The Faculty Board of Studies usually meets about three times a year and has the role of considering new program proposals in the Bachelor of Arts, and includes senior academics from the Faculty. Growing trend of sexual harassment of university staff

The National Tertiary Education Union (NTEU) has today called for both regulatory and political change to stop a growing trend in sexism and sexual harassment in the workplace.
In the Union’s submission to the Australian Human Rights Commission’s National Inquiry into Sexual Harassment in the Workplace, the NTEU detailed findings from a survey of over 1,350 NTEU members working in universities across the country. More...
