The Government is taking forward a number of initiatives to meet its goal of creating ‘a democracy that works for everyone’. Une proposition de loi est actuellement en discussion au parlement hongrois qui menace l'existence même de la Central European University (CEU), un membre important de l'AIU basé à Budapest. La législation limite l'autonomie de la CEU prévoyant entre autres de l'empêcher de délivrer des diplômes américains et d'employer des professeurs étrangers. La CEU a reçu de nombreux soutiens et diffuse actuellement une pétition internationale afin d’empêcher l'adoption de la loi. Voir l'article...

Central European University under threat
Proposed legislation is under discussion in the Hungarian Parliament that would endanger the existence of the Central European University (CEU), a unique and valued IAU member based in Budapest. The legislation would limit CEU’s autonomy and among other things, prevent it from delivering US degrees and hiring international faculty.
