Regional Ranking Seminar in Budapest

Etvos Lorand University (member of IREG Observatory) organized a regional seminar “Universities on Crossroads of National and Global Rankings” in Budapest on 31 March 2017 to discuss the meaning and usefulness of global and national rankings for higher education systems in smaller countries with limited number of universities. While positions at the top of global rankings seem out of reach for these universities, they feel a need to compare themselves against institutions and faculties not only in their own countries but also with their counterparts in other countries and especially within the region.
