Perkins Loan Supporters Push for Reinstatement of the Program
ACE, on behalf of 53 higher education organizations and 535 colleges and universities, sent a letter to congressional leaders Friday requesting a one-year extension of the Perkins Loan Program, which expired on Oct. 1.
Approximately 1,500 institutions participate in the program, which is targeted at students with exceptional financial need. Last year, over 500,000 students borrowed an average of $2,000 in Perkins loans. More...
