With almost 640,000 students registered for UK study through TNE routes according to the 13/14 HESA numbers, predictions that TNE would be the most substantial growth element for UK HEI's international recruitment are coming true. Increasingly, researchers are focusing on TNE, what it means for the countries, universities and students involved. The UK HE International Unit and British Council recognise the opportunities for TNE as a critical cog in international strategy and have created the HEGlobal initiative to empower UK universities' TNE activity.
