As the parent of an athlete who has played in some highly competitive leagues, I am well aware of the importance of instilling the principle of good sportsmanship in players. In high stakes situations, generosity and grace often aren't the natural responses, and they need to be drilled into kids (and sometimes parents) repeatedly to achieve any semblance of a civilized sports environment. Read more...

147 Killed at University in Kenya

HomeAuthorities say 147 people were killed in an attack by a violent Somali group on a university in Kenya Thursday morning, The New York Times reported. That number is much higher than were the initial reports. Christian students were the target at a university that educates both Muslim and Christian students. College Plans to Build Biodome Over Entire Campus

HomeHoughton College announced plans today (please note the date) to build a biodome over its entire campus. College officials said that they based the idea on an aircraft hangar at an old Soviet military air base near Berlin in Krausnick, Germany, that was converted into a tropical resort of about 194 million cubic feet.
