NRC seen as bureaucratic, lacking focus on commercial research, audit finds

By Don Butler. Key industry decision-makers think of the National Research Council as overly bureaucratic, at times inefficient, and insufficiently focused on commercial applications, according to a “brand audit” commissioned by the NRC.
The $50,000 audit, conducted by Ipsos Reid between May 6 and June 6, 2014, involved in-depth interviews with 39 executives with responsibility for research and innovation within their organizations. Twenty-two were current clients of the NRC and 17 were non-clients. More...
