A Congressional panel is investigating China's "Confucius institutes" to see if American schools are sacrificing academic freedom.
China's investment in higher education in the U.S. came under scrutiny Thursday by a congressional panel probing "Confucius institutes" at 97 colleges and universities.
Pace University and six State University of New York campuses are among schools with Confucius institutes that provide Chinese cultural and language instruction.
