Du taux de turn-over comme indicateur de gestion RH

http://leblogrh.recruteurs.apec.fr/wp-content/uploads/PMarzin.jpgPar Pierre Marzin.
MIT and Harvard release de-identified learning data from open online courses

A research team from Harvard University and MIT has released its third and final promised deliverable — the de-identified learning data — relating to an initial study of online learning based on each institution’s first-year courses on the edX platform.
Specifically, the dataset contains the original learning data from the 16 HarvardX and MITx courses offered in 2012-13 that formed the basis of the first HarvardX and MITx working papers (released in January) and underpin a suite of powerful open-source interactive visualization tools (released in February). Benefits of College Experience Are Vast

By Tracy Lorenz. A few weeks ago, I came upon a radio program where the host and a caller were debating the benefits of pursuing a college degree. The volley of opinions covered the angles of the current debate on the value of education. They expressed thoughts such as: "An education is always worth pursuing...," "But do the costs always offer a good return on investment...," "You must have a degree to compete in today's workforce...," "Many students, though, are graduating with degrees but with limited job prospects, significant debt or both."
Sound familiar? This is precisely the kind of debate I hear more and more, not only as the president of Western International University (West), a part of Apollo Education Group, but also as a parent of kids who will be college bound in the next few years. More...

Only 17% of UK universities are run by women – why?

The ConversationBy Janet Beer and Simonetta Manfredi. Women now form 56.5% of the student body, make up 53.8% of the whole workforce and occupy 45% of academic jobs in higher education in the United Kingdom. But their representation declines dramatically at senior management levels, where only 27.5% of managers are women. In vice-chancellor and principal roles, this is even lower: only 17% are women, or 29 out of 166 in 2013-14.
In order to shed some light on the possible causes of such a striking gender imbalance in leadership positions in the sector, the Equality Challenge Unit and the Leadership Foundation for Higher Education commissioned some research from the Centre for Diversity Policy Research and Practice at Oxford Brookes University, in partnership with Learning for Good. How US universities spent surprise anonymous millions

. The universities were scattered across the United States. With one exception, they were all public universities.  And they were all run by women. More...

Higher education system Turkey's new soft power, says Çetinsaya

By Begüm Tunakan. On the path to the multi-dimensional internationalization of Turkish higher education, Chief Professor Gökhan Çetinsaya expects more international students to attend the Turkish universities, increasing Turkey's international image in making the country stronger.

Far From a Threat, MOOCs Could Help Solve the B-School Diversity Problem

http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/simgad/16269968660334575946By . Business schools worrying that massive open online courses will cut into enrollment and revenue are missing a chance to diversify their schools, new research shows.
A study written by three University of Pennsylvania researchers and published on Tuesday in the Harvard Business Review analyzed the demographics of the more than 875,000 students enrolled in nine business courses that Penn’s Wharton School offered for free online. International students and underrepresented minorities account for a disproportionate number of those enrolled in Wharton’s MOOCs, unlike traditional MBA programs, the researchers found. This suggests that those populations have an interest in business education that traditional programs are not tapping. More...
