First Arab platform for MOOCs launched

HE tuning initiative for North Africa and Middle East

Brazil university pipped by Chile rival in QS ranking

Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, or UC, has overtaken Brazil’s Universidade de São Paulo to top QS University Rankings: Latin America. São Paulo slips to second, having ranked first every year since 2011. UC had previously been second.

U-multirank : beaucoup de bruit pour…

Le très attendu classement Umultirank (@UMultirank), promu par la Commission européenne pour concurrencer ceux de Shangaï ou du Times Higher Education, a été mis en ligne cette semaine. Pour le moment seulement 852 établissements d’enseignement supérieur du monde entier (dont 62 en France ou 39 pour le Royaume-Uni) sont analysés. Beaucoup d’établissements ont en effet refusé de répondre – par exemple les universités de la LERU comme l’UPMC ou Strasbourg – alors que ceux qui s’y sont attelés ont beaucoup souffert face à des questionnaires un peu surdimensionnés.
