First apprenticeship in space engineering launched

By Graeme Paton. A new apprenticeship in space engineering is launched as the Skills Minister insists that on-the-job training or university will soon be the norm for every school leaver. A new wave of elite apprenticeship courses is being launched by the Government to offer school leavers an alternative to university. For the first time, teenagers will be able to do on-the-job training in space engineering – potentially paving the way to a career in satellite TV, mobile phone services or GPS navigation.
