Middle East and North Africa Higher Education Leadership Forum report

This inaugural Higher Education Leadership Forum organized by the Center for Learning Innovations and Customized Knowledge Solutions (CLICKS) in partnership with ICDE, the Association of Arab Universities and the UT Global Initiative was held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates earlier this month. ICDE Secretary General Gard Titlestad spoke on The Future of Higher Education and the Future of Learning at the Forum which also saw the launch of the MENA Association of University Presidents.
The Forum, which attracted over 170 leaders in higher education and decision makers from over 33 countries, was organized with the aim of gathering to discuss the latest trends, developments and challenges in the field and identify future strategies and road-maps for cooperation and collaboration. The theme "Becoming a World-Class University in a Modern Context" was chosen given the growing attention from institutions of learning to achieving a ‘world-class’ status that enables them to compete in today’s global market, maintain quality and enhance their public image while remaining competitive.
