L'Agence lance sa revue scientifique : le Journal of International Mobility - JIM

http://www.europe-education-formation.fr/images/agence_erasmus/logo_agence.pngL'Agence vient de lancer officiellement une nouvelle publication scientifique, le Journal of International Mobility : Moving for Education, Training and Research.
Les contributions portent sur toutes les dimensions de la mobilité des individus dans le cadre de l'éducation et de la formation en Europe et dans le monde.
Cette réflexion s'inscrit dans une perspective d'avenir pour contribuer à mieux comprendre les conditions et l'impact de la mobilité. 
Elle concerne aussi bien l'enseignement général et l'enseignement supérieur que la formation professionnelle initiale et continue.
Dans un contexte d'ouverture au monde, la publication, annuelle, se positionne comme un appui et une aide à tous les organismes et acteurs qui s'impliqueront dans le nouveau programme européen Erasmus+, de 2014 à 2020.

L'UNESCO propose une seconde édition du rapport Faure, initialement publié en 1972. En apportant un nouveau regard sur les liens entre éducation et société, ce rapport est resté comme l'une des publications clés au fondement des actions menées aujourd'hui par l'UNESCO.
Un article d'Asher Deleon, publié dans le Courrier de l’UNESCO en avril 1996 en faisait le résumé suivant :
« Éducation permanente » et « cité éducative » sont les deux notions fondamentales du Rapport de la Commission Faure. La première était considérée comme la « clé de voûte » des politiques éducatives ; la seconde, comme stratégie visant à engager « toute la société » dans le processus éducatif. L’approche reposait sur l’idée d’une osmose entre l’éducation et la société et cherchait, d’emblée, à corriger un certain nombre d’erreurs d’optique, notamment celle d’une éducation conçue comme « sous-système » de la société, de l’instruction comme outil susceptible de résoudre tous les problèmes individuels et sociaux, de la coupure de la vie en « temps d’apprendre » et « temps de vivre ».
La première édition est disponible en anglais, français, espagnol et portugais. Le titre de la version française est Apprendre à être : le monde de l’éducation d’hier et d’aujourd’hui.

Call for papers: Organizing education – Sociological approaches, analyses and findings

The conference “Organizing Education – Sociological Approaches, Analyses and Findings” will be held 13–14 June 2014 at the University of Teacher Education in Basel, Switzerland. The conference is organized by the Education Sections of the Sociological Associations of Switzerland (SGS), Germany (DGS) & Austria (ÖGS).
The main aim of the conference is to put focus to extend the  organizational perspectives to theoretically and empirically examine themes such as inequality, quality, reforms and so forth, as well as to strengthen educational sociology by using the epistemological and methodological tools from organizational research to focus on the specifics and dynamics of organizations.
Conference contributions are expected on the following themes:

 

 

  • Genesis, Functioning, Change and Mortality of Educational Organizations
  • Educational Organizations and their Environments
  • On the Relationship(s) among Educational Organizations
  • Education as an Objective and Activity of Organizations
  • The Production and Distribution of Education: Consequences for Pathways, “Consumers” and Careers

The knowledge based economy as a discursive context

Conference review: 10th International Workshop on Higher Education Reform in Ljubljana

Hedda - Higher Education Development AssociationPosted by Marielk. This guest post is by Inga Zalyevska who is currently enrolled as Masters student in Research and Innovation in Higher Education, an Erasmus Mundus program coordinated by Danube University Krems and University of Tampere.
The International Workshop on Higher Education Reform was held in its 10th edition on October 2-4 at the University of Ljubljana in Slovenia. As the title suggests, the event was focused on reform, with the emphasis on the big picture over time. Keynote speakers and panelists were invited to trace the impact of higher education reform over the past several decades and forecast its future development.
The conference was a comfortable size of about 80 participants from different countries in the EU, North America, Africa and Asia. The majority of the attendees were senior scholars and policy analysts – a group well qualified to provide a bird’s eye view of the HE reform, but also perhaps disillusioned or even ‘tired’ of the issue as Catherine Odora Hoppers, the first keynote speaker, admitted. Call for contributions to a book on contemporary challenges in higher education

Hedda - Higher Education Development AssociationBy Marielk. We are pleased to forward you a call for chapters for the book “Higher Education and Contemporary Challenges”, edited by Filipa M. Ribeiro (University of Porto, Portugal), Yurgos Politis (University College Dublin, Ireland), and Bojana Culum (University of Rijeka, Croatia).
The book will be published by IGI Global in the Advances in Higher Education and Professional Development (AHEPD) Book Series that encompasses all research dealing with higher education pedagogy, development, and curriculum design, as well as all areas of professional development, regardless of focus.
The following research questions form the core of this book:
  • What is and/or should be HE’s role in today’s society?
  • How is HE influencing the understanding of social issues by students, policy-makers and even HE researchers?
  • How can we improve the distribution of research?
  • How can young researchers cope with the emergent standards in HE research and with the changes in the nature of knowledge itself?

Proposal deadline November 15, the proposal should clearly explain the topic of the chapter as well as how it fits with the book theme.

Women, men and working conditions in Europe

Summary:     Despite much legislative progress in gender equality over the past 40 years, there are still gender gaps across many aspects of the labour market. Inequalities are still evident in areas such as access to the labour market, employment patterns and associated working conditions. This report explores gender differences across several dimensions of working conditions, examining relevant country differences, analysing the different occupational groups of both men and women, and comparing the public and private sectors. It also looks at the impact of the crisis on gender segregation in employment. Based on findings from the fifth European Working Conditions Survey (EWCS), conducted in 2010, the analysis offers a striking picture of women and men at work across 34 European countries today.

The third regional meeting of Ministers of Education on the implementation of the European Higher Education Area in Yerevan

In September 2011 a regional meeting of Ministers of Education was held in Kyiv under the Ukrainian Chairmanship of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe. Following on from the success of this meeting, the 2nd regional meeting of Ministers of Education on the Implementation of the European Higher Education Area was held in Strasbourg on 22-23 November 2012.
The third regional meeting of Ministers of Education on the implementation of the European Higher Education Area was held in Yerevan under the Armenian Chairmanship of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe on 17-18 October 2013. The meeting was co-organized by the Ministry of Education and Science of Armenia, the Council of Europe and the European Students’ Union. In comparison to previous meetings, it also included delegations from the countries of the Black Sea Economic Co-operation. The meeting was attended by the delegations of Armenia, Belarus, Bulgaria, Georgia, Moldova, Romania, the Russian Federation and Ukraine, as well as by observer organisations.
The meeting focused on different parts of the Bologna structural higher education reform process, with a particular focus on the self-certification and implementation of national qualifications frameworks and student participation in the higher education governance.
At the end of the meeting a declaration was adopted.

Joining forces on apprenticeships

Apprenticeships ease the transition of young people into jobs, providing the skills which employers need, and are seen as one of the keys to bringing down youth unemployment in Europe. The European Alliance for Apprenticeships initiative was launched in July as a way to mobilise stakeholders in the education, training and employment sectors to strengthen the supply, the quality and the image of apprenticeships across Europe.
