By John Morgan. The UK scores poorly in a major study by the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development on adult literacy, numeracy and other key skills. The OECD tested more than 150,000 people aged 16 to 65 in 24 countries for the study, entitledProgramme for the International Assessment of Adult Competencies (Piaac). It is billed as having the potential to become an adult equivalent to the organisation’s influential Programme for International Student Assessment (Pisa) rankings, which measure the performance of school pupils.
