Students blocked from university fee meeting

Last year, protesters stormed the city campus after the institution decided to raise course fees by 4%. Two security guards were left badly injured in the incident. Accordingly, university staff are taking preventative measures for when its council meets again next month.
An Auckland University spokesperson has told ONE News that the decision to block students from the meeting is due to "numerous and serious safety issues".
"The Vice-Chancellor, as employer, has responsibility to ensure the health and safety of its staff and council members."
