Private higher education must improve to compete
Vice President Boediono said on Tuesday that it was impossible to prevent foreign universities from operating in Indonesia, particularly in the current era of globalization.
“Do you think we should isolate ourselves like people in North Korea? It’s impossible. Therefore, all sectors have to deal with the potential impact of globalization,” said Boediono as quoted by Antara news agency.
He was speaking at the opening ceremony of the third national meeting of the Indonesian Association of Private Higher Education Providers Agency (ABP-PTSI), which was held at the Vice President's office in Jakarta on Tuesday.
Deputy Education and Culture Minister Musliar Kasim and ABP PTSI chairman Thomas Suyatno also attended the meeting. Read more...
