La France loin derrière l'Inde, la Malaysie et le Nigéria

http://acarem.hse.ru/files/data/t2d1.jpgThis research project is a joint effort of the Laboratory for Institutional Analysis (LIA) from the Higher School of Economics (HSE) in Moscow, Russia, and the Boston College Center for International Higher Education (CIHE) in the United States in the collaboration with experts from 28 countries around the world. Both quantitative and qualitative methods were used to explore the complex topic of academic remuneration in a comparative perspective.
This study is unique in many ways:
1. It covered 28 countries that represent different economic conditions and cultural traditions, making this study the most extensive comparative study on academic salaries to date.
2. For each participating country local experts prepared a report with information about the higher education system and conditions shaping the academic profession.  This information provided a context for the data and underscored the multiple challenges and limitations of research of this kind.
3. Quantitative information about salaries was standardized using a Purchasing Power Parity (PPP) rate and then compared across countries.
4. A comprehensive report with broad coverage of international trends and salaries resulted.
In this website you will find information about the project, the conference on Academic Salaries held in Moscow, previous and relevant publications on international comparisons of academic salaries, and empirical data retrieved from the study.
A full report including the country reports, and complete analysis of the information will be available soon through Palgrave McMillan editors.
