Higher Education's Commitment to Sustainability
Brief Conference Report. 5th International Barcelona Conference on Higher Education
The conference, organized by the Global University Network for Innovation (GUNI) and held from 23 to 25 November 2010 at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, gathered more than 300 representatives from over 90 countries, including higher education practitioners (leaders and staff), policy makers from national and supranational agencies, academics, researchers, and students.
Over 300 higher education representatives, researchers and policy makers from more than 90 countries participated in the GUNI Conference. Materials and outcomes of the Conference are now available at the Conference website. The 5th International Barcelona Conference on Higher Education: Higher Education's Commitment to Sustainability: from Understanding to Action was exploring how higher education in the world is being transformed and can transform itself to contribute to the articulation of the paradigm of sustainability and identify some barriers for this transformation in order to discuss and agree upon future actions. The Conference materials are now available at the Conference website.
