The 13th Toulon-Verona International Conference "A think-tank on Excellence in Services" will take place at the University of Coimbra, Portugal from 2-4 September 2010.

This is an international forum that encourages debate between academics, researchers and managers interested in the implementation of quality management and excellence in higher education, healthcare, local government, tourism, banking and logistics.
This conference will look at the role of stakeholders, resources, processes, certifications, accreditations and labels, measurement and improvement in quality management.
The programme comprises plenary and parallel sessions. It will be a pleasure to have with us, as invited speakers, two well-known quality leaders: Professor Tito Conti (short bio), Professor Pedro Andrade Saraiva (short bio).
The parallel sessions will be organised around the topics of the conference, including: Higher Education, Health Care, Local Government and public services, Tourism and Leisure, Banking services, Logistics, Theoretical and methodological approaches. The programme will include a visit to the old part of the University and the gala dinner. The conference will start on the 2nd of September (Thursday) afternoon and finish on the 4th (Saturday) before lunch. The general outline of the programme will be available here soon.

History
During the first QMOD Conference in Zhenzhou, China, in 1997, Professor Claudio Baccarani of the University of Verona, Italy, and Professor Michel Weill of the University of Toulon, France, launched the idea of organizing a conference sponsored by their two universities on the theme of quality in higher education institutions. Over the years, the conference has expanded its scope, welcomed hundreds of delegates and published more than a thousand research papers.
The 1st Toulon-Verona Conference was hosted by the University of Toulon, France, in 1998. The 2nd Toulon-Verona Conference was hosted by the University of Verona, Italy, in 1999. The 3rd Toulon-Verona Conference was hosted by the University of Derby, UK. The 4th Toulon-Verona Conference was hosted by the Polytechnic of Mons, Belgium. The 5th Toulon-Verona Conference was hosted by the ISEG of Lisbon, Portugal. The 6th Toulon-Verona Conference was hosted by the University of Oviedo, Spain. The 7th Toulon-Verona Conference came back to the University of Toulon, France, supported by the Provence Regional Council, the Var Council and the Toulon Provence Méditerranée Council. To consolidate the three main themes, the conference took on the name of "Quality in Services". The 8th Toulon-Verona Conference was hosted by the University of Palermo, Italy.  The 9th Toulon-Verona Conference was hosted by the University of Paisley, Scotland. The 10th Toulon-Verona Conference was hosted by Aristotle University in Thessaloniki, Greece. The 11th Toulon-Verona Conference was hosted by the University of Florence, Italy. The 12th Toulon-Verona Conference was hosted by the University of Verona, Italy.
