Launch of the Knowledge System on Lifelong Learning (KSLLL)
The system is a support mechanism for the Education and Training 2010 Work Programme. It offers relevant, up-to-date, easily accessible and comparable information on national policy initiatives and practices in prioritised areas in the field of Education and Training for the development of lifelong learning. It builds on the work of Peer Learning Clusters and activities other working groups.
EU education and training policy has been given added impetus since the adoption of the Lisbon Strategy in 2000, the EU's overarching programme focusing on growth and jobs. The programme integrates previous actions in the fields of education and training at the European level, including vocational education and training under the Copenhagen Process, and links up to the Bologna Process, which is crucial in the development of the European Higher Education Area.
